How do I order?
Place your order via the website by the Add To Cart button.
How is my order delivered?
Orders are sent within two working days of ordering and payment, second class by Royal Mail. The printed books are sent in cardboard (from sustainable sources) packaging designed specifically for the books.
Can I return the book if I don't like it?
Yes, I have a no quibble 14 day return policy on the printed books.
I do not offer refunds on ebooks.
How big are the books?
The Guide Books are 210mm x 148mm x 21mm A5 Landscape
The Guide Books each weigh 1.2 kilos

Where can I download a preview of the books?
A free preview copy of all of the books can be downloaded in PDF format from the website.
How do you choose the places you recommend in the guide books?
You may wonder how I choose the places included in my guide books.
I research and talk to the people who live locally in each area.
I back this up with my own personal knowledge of the areas supported by a team of collaborators and by us visiting the National Parks regularly.
Do the businesses pay to be featured in the guide books?
None of the businesses have paid to be featured in the guide books.
I want you to understand that these are amongst the very best in the areas featured. These have been chosen by me, by conducting extensive research and visiting myself or by my team of collaborators.
Where are your books printed?
The books are printed by HPE Print in Pickering, North Yorkshire, England with FSC certified paper from sustainable sources.
Who takes the photography?
In Lakes, Fells, Pubs & Things – the majority of photos were taken by the talented Penrith based Rob Knowles. His photos can be ordered as prints. Simply email him at: apattinson1@sky.com. Other photos were taken by guest photographers plus some sourced images/photos.

Can I buy your books from Amazon?
I decided not to sell my books through Amazon as I do not agree with how they run their business and treat their staff. As such the books are mainly available directly from my website, plus a small number of approved outlets.
Are your books available in bookshops?
Currently Lakes, Fells, Pubs & Things is available from Bookends in Keswick and Carlisle. Dales, Fells, Pubs & Things is available from the famous Tan Hill Inn – the highest pub in England and the Red Lion – Langthwaite, famous for its use in All Creatures Great and Small amongst many others.
Will you be covering other regions?
Yes I am working on a new book ‘The Yorkshire Coast, Pubs & Things’ but as a small operation it takes quite some time to research, write, format, print and subsequently publish each book. So watch this space!
